Spotify said Friday that Taylor Swift became the most-streamed female artist in a single day in 2026 on the platform, powered in part by four new songs on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The company also flagged “Patient Zero,” the campaign’s focus track, as the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day so far this year.
Alongside “Patient Zero,” the Encore package adds “Babylon,” “Pink Clouding,” and “Cleveland!” to the original Showgirl set. That album already spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and opened with 4.002 million equivalent album units in the United States. Swift framed the extra songs as gratitude after that historic first week, writing that a Sweden trip with Max Martin and Shellback turned into more studio sessions.
Next up is the cinematic “Patient Zero” video, set to premiere during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. Swift directed the clip, which stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson and features cinematography by Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki. She will also receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the ceremony.
