Rod Wave has landed his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as Don’t Look Down opens atop the chart dated Sept. 12. According to Luminate figures reported with the ranking, the set earned 99,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Sept. 3, with streaming carrying most of the total.
Of that first-week haul, streaming equivalent albums accounted for about 90,000 units — roughly 95 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs — while pure album sales contributed about 9,000. The project also debuts at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums.
Wave previously topped the Billboard 200 with Nostalgia (2023), Beautiful Mind (2022) and SoulFly (2021). Don’t Look Down is also his eighth consecutive top 10 title on the chart, continuing a streak that began with Ghetto Gospel in 2019.
The 20-track standard edition shipped on CD and vinyl, with an expanded 24-track digital edition and multiple physical variants, including signed pressings. Ahead of release, Wave had pushed three Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs top 40 titles: “Hustle,” “Piece of Your Love,” and “Feed the Streets.”
Alex Warren’s WILDCHILD opens at No. 2 with 75,000 units — his highest chart peak and best sales week yet, buoyed by heavy vinyl and CD variant demand. Former No. 1s from Ella Langley, Olivia Rodrigo, Morgan Wallen and others fill out the rest of the top five. Billboard plans to post the full Sept. 12 chart on Sept. 9 after the U.S. Labor Day holiday.
