Leon Bridges has released Happiness Anytime, his fifth studio album and the full 12-song payoff of a three-phase rollout that began earlier this summer. The Fort Worth singer’s follow-up to 2024’s Leon is out now via Columbia across streaming and physical formats, including cassette, with a closing batch that adds “Watch You Dance,” “The Way It Goes,” “Take My Hand,” and “Please Don’t Say Goodbye.”
Jungle members Josh Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto produced the record, with Pino Palladino contributing bass. Bridges has described happiness as something that should linger rather than be chased, framing his role as bringing light amid a culture that can feel overwhelming. Kitto said he wanted songs he could dance to onstage again, putting the guitar down and performing out front.
Bridges will greet fans at Dallas’ Good Records at 5 p.m. on September 28 for a meet-and-greet and album signing. The album folds dancefloor instincts from Good Thing-era material into Afrobeat, South American rhythms, disco, and soul textures shaped with Jungle’s production duo.
