Rochester psych-rock trio King Buffalo have announced their sixth studio album, Doomsayer, arriving December 4, 2026, and shared the lead single “The Slick and the Dead.”
Guitarist-vocalist Sean Roa said the record grew out of early-2026 jam sessions in the band’s new studio, with no fixed end goal—only exploration of ideas that stuck. He called the finished work some of the group’s “most upfront, direct and riff-driven” material, shaped by changes in the band’s and members’ personal lives since the last album.
Doomsayer’s seven-song tracklist is: Battling The Mystagogues; The Slick and The Dead; Vagabond; Hell or High Water; Into the Foundry; Ether on the Dark Side; Doomsayer.
King Buffalo will tour North America this fall with openers LA Witch, Handsome Jack, and Doomgong. Dates start October 29 in Boulder, Colorado, and wrap December 18 in Columbus, Ohio, with stops including Seattle, Austin, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.
