Greta Van Fleet have put out a new single, “Tear It Down,” via Republic Records, the latest preview of their forthcoming studio album Palace for the People, due October 9, 2026.
The track follows earlier previews “Play Your Games” and “Saw You Stand.” On the verses, frontman Josh Kiszka frames a search for clarity—“I’m searching for answers in the shifting clouds. What do we do when it gets too loud?”—before the chorus answers with the refrain “Build it up, then you tear it down.”
Palace for the People was recorded in Tennessee in spring 2026 and co-produced by the band with Mike Elizondo. The full tracklist runs: Into the Beginning; Tear It Down; Heart and the Beat; Boughten Bliss; Field of Stars; Play Your Games; Dreams You Hold; Lost in the Golden Touch; Again; Saw You Stand; Heya; Call My Own; Born into This.
Josh Kiszka has described the album as a record meant to personify “adventure, passion, brutality, beauty, sex, and imagination,” while guitarist Jake Kiszka called it “a very modern record” at heart even as it remains a Greta Van Fleet rock album. The Michigan-rooted Grammy-winning quartet—Josh, Jake, and Sam Kiszka with drummer Danny Wagner—release the set through LAVA/Republic.
