Maryland rock institution Clutch have announced 14th studio album Wasted Lands, due January 22, 2027 on their own Weathermaker Music imprint, and unleashed the riff-driven title track with a video. Cut at the band’s Doom Saloon in Frederick, Maryland, the set reunites Clutch with producer Machine for the first time since 2015’s Psychic Warfare.
Neil Fallon built the title song’s creature from a bizarre Facebook scrap over a fake free T-shirt-and-dinner prize, while Jean-Paul Gaster fought to keep a bass-drum hit under the line “man or beast” for live impact. The 12-track run stretches from “The Drifter Returns” and “Stage Fright” through banjo-tinged “Beware The Fever” to “The Message Is Clear,” with multiple vinyl color variants and CD/cassette editions lined up.
Clutch preview the material on a 16-date U.S. headline run October 16–November 7 with Slomosa and Blood Vulture, from Charlotte’s Fillmore to Norfolk’s The NorVa, plus January 2027 Australian dates with Corrosion of Conformity.
