Scottish trio Chvrches have signed with Futures Music Group and released “Roses,” their first new single since 2021’s Screen Violence. The politically edged track lands alongside a label move and plans for two intimate U.K. shows—Glasgow on October 26 and London on October 29—with tickets allocated by ballot and proceeds earmarked for charity.
Futures, founded in 2024 by Derek Davies of Neon Gold and Dave Wallace of Avenue A, describes itself as an independent collective built around transparent deal structures and technology partnerships that favor long-term artist participation over traditional ownership models. Its roster already includes Lykke Li, Mt. Joy, Cavetown, Phantogram, and the Knocks.
The comeback follows Lauren Mayberry’s solo album on Island and arrives after what Mayberry called the band’s longest break between albums, with a stated aim of avoiding ground they had already covered. “Roses” opens a new Chvrches chapter built around a harder, more industrial edge than the disco-leaning pop of their last LP.
