CHVRCHES are officially back. On Wednesday, October 21, the Glasgow synthpop trio announced All the King’s Men, their first album since 2021’s Screen Violence. It arrives January 22 via Futures, and the band also unveiled an international tour that starts in February.
Back in the same room
A lot has happened in the band’s world since the last record. Singer Lauren Mayberry released solo work, and Martin Doherty launched his own project, the Leaving. Screen Violence was largely made remotely during the pandemic. This time, Mayberry, Doherty and Iain Cook reconvened in Glasgow to write and record together.
The band gave fans a first taste last month with the single “Roses,” which opens the album. The 11-track album also includes “Conman,” a song CHVRCHES have already been playing live this year. No new single came with the announcement, but the tracklist hints at a record split between big, glossy pop moments and more personal songs such as “Jamie’s Prayer” and the closer “Faith in Flying.”

The tour opens February 13 at Philadelphia’s Franklin Music Hall. The North American run closes March 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
