Blondie Announce High Noon, First New Album in Nine Years, Due Feb 26 2027

Blondie will release High Noon on February 26, 2027 via BMG — their first album of new material in nine years, their 12th studio set, and the final recordings featuring late co-founding drummer Clem Burke.

First single “Spectral Eyes” is available now. Written by Johnny Marr, who also contributes guitar, it opens the record with bright, slightly off-center pop energy that still feels unmistakably Blondie. Further collaborators include Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Beirut’s Zach Condon, and Lucius vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig.

Tracking started in New York City in 2022 with producer John Congleton, who previously worked with the band on 2017’s guest-heavy Pollinator. David Wrench later joined for additional production and mixing. At the time, nobody knew the sessions would become Burke’s last with the group.

Debbie Harry said the album is “classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new,” music she feels is “grounded in the present.” Inside the tracklist, Chris Stein wrote “Heartbreak Kid” with Johnny Thunders in mind; Matlock penned “Sleepwalking”; and “Little Metal Drummer” revisits a tune founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri cut for his 1981 solo album Heart on a Wall, a version that already featured Harry and Burke. Stein summed up the long arc simply: another Blondie album, and gratitude for the audience that stuck around.

Like Pollinator before it, High Noon keeps Blondie’s genre-hopping brief intact — punk and rock alongside dance, pop and Latin rhythms — while marking a quieter milestone: Burke’s last appearances on a Blondie studio album.
