Smashing Pumpkins open the Rats in a Cage Tour on September 30, 2026 at Columbus’s Schottenstein Center, launching a 28-date North American arena run that belatedly marks 30 years of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Each night splits into two sets: a theatrical first half drawn only from the 1995 double album, then a shifting second set spanning nearly four decades from Gish through Aghori Mhori Mei.

The itinerary hits Boston, Baltimore, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Pittsburgh, Canadian stops in Hamilton and Montréal, Madison, Saint Paul, and a United Center homecoming in Chicago on October 14, before southern and western legs through Charlotte, Florida, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, the Pacific Northwest, Phoenix, and a November 12 close at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. Two days later the band co-headlines Darker Waves in Huntington Beach with Morrissey.

Billy Corgan has said the Mellon Collie-centered concept had been discussed for more than a decade while leaving room for nightly change on the catalogue set. The anniversary wave already included a Lyric Opera of Chicago collaboration and an expanded reissue with 1996 tour material; Corgan has also noted new work with producer Butch Vig expected this year after a Lollapalooza reunion that featured Olivia Rodrigo and Yungblud.
