Shakira’s Madrid residency is underway at Macondo Park, a custom live site in the city’s Villaverde neighborhood that Live Nation Spain built around a 12-show run from September 18 to October 11, 2026.

Named after the fictional town in Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude, the venue sits in the Iberdrola Music grounds that also host Mad Cool. Organizers say each day is designed for roughly 55,000 attendees, including an amphitheater of three seating blocks holding 26,318 people, with the remaining field given over to tents and activity pavilions across about 220,000 square meters.

Live Nation Spain president Pino Saglioco framed the project as a major Latin music event at a September press briefing on the stage itself. Shakira’s set is the nightly closer; doors now open at 3:30 p.m. rather than noon. Weekend programming includes Spanish and Latin American guests—among them Amaia, Guitarricadelafuente, flamenco artists, and a Barranquilla Carnival dance school finale—plus museum, literature, and food activations under the broader Es Latina banner.

Promoters said about 10,000 workers spent 16 months on the build and expect to sell around 600,000 tickets across the dozen dates, with most audiences coming from Spain and Latin America. Some neighborhood noise concerns were raised; Live Nation argued the residency revitalizes Villaverde and nearby Getafe. Ticket inventory was described as nearly sold, with a limited number still available at the time of EL PAÍS’s September 18 report.
