Celine Dion was set to take the stage again in Paris on Saturday, September 12, 2026, for her first full concert in six years. The opening night of her residency at Plénitude Arena (outside Paris) was sold out, with around 30,000 fans expected.
The French-Canadian star’s 26-date run starts with 16 shows across September and October, followed by 10 more dates in May 2027. The residency marks a major step after she publicly disclosed a diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that can cause severe muscle stiffness and spasms and previously forced her to cancel concerts.
Paris treated the return like a civic event. Fans staged costume contests, karaoke parties, and Seine tribute cruises. Platform signs at the main train station serving the arena were temporarily renamed “Celine,” and a lyric from Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” — the song Dion performed from the Eiffel Tower at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony — was projected near the Tuileries Garden cauldron.
Over a four-decade career, Dion has sold around 260 million albums in English and French. Fans who traveled for opening night called the comeback emotional after years of uncertainty about whether she would perform again.
