PRS for Music will distribute £240 million in royalties on 15 October 2026, a £7 million rise on the same month last year. The payment reaches more than 93,000 members and includes over 6,000 writers and publishers collecting through the society for the first time.
Public Performance is the standout domestic category this round, delivering more than £86 million — roughly 10% ahead of the prior October. Within that live-and-venues picture, the UK Major Live Concert Service (MLCS) is paying out over £8 million for the first time in an October distribution, covering concert activity linked to members such as Lily Allen, Harry Styles, Bruno Mars and Ludovico Einaudi.
UK video-on-demand under the GEOL framework contributes about £31 million, with named licensees including Amazon, Netflix, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer. Broadcast royalties add more than £23 million from Channel 4, BBC Radio and commercial radio operators.
Money collected abroad remains a major pillar: international society transfers — among them APRA (Australia), ASCAP and BMI (USA), and GEMA (Germany) — make up over £85 million of the October total. PRS says members can open a detailed breakdown on its site and confirm whether they appear in the 15 October run.
Taken together, the update underlines how live, VOD, broadcast and foreign collections now combine in a single monthly statement for UK repertoire owners — and how first-time earners continue to enter the system alongside long-standing members.
