Italy’s recorded-music business grew 7.3% year on year in the first half of 2026, according to labels body FIMI, reaching €224.7 million in trade revenue (about $261 million at then-current rates). The pace sits between recently reported H1 gains in Spain (11.6%) and France (3.5%).
Streaming rose 7% to €178.9 million, including a 9.4% lift in subscription revenue to €132.1 million. Physical formats grew 11.9% overall, led by vinyl sales up 18.5% to €26.1 million. Digital still accounts for roughly 80% of the market, FIMI-linked reporting notes.
The 7.3% headline rate is cooler than the 9.7% growth FIMI logged in H1 2025, when subscription streaming climbed 12.7%. Italy ranked 11th globally for recorded-music revenue in IFPI’s 2025 year-end picture. FIMI also tallied more than 52 billion streams in Italy during the first half of 2026.
